After a brilliant America’s Cup production Valencia is ready to become the premiere host to the world’s richest sports, Grand Prix F1 Racing. Running an inner-city circuit, which is sure to bring the excitement of Monaco grand prix racing to the fans, of 5,440 kilometers it will comprise 57 laps for the fans to enjoy. The growl of F1 racing will follow along through much of what has been newly constructed for the America’s Cup racing with some wild additions – like a swinging futuristic roadway bridge!
You can get there early Friday morning on 22nd of August at 10:00am to watch the first practice runs. There will be a second practice at 14:00. Saturday morning at 11am the last practice runs begin and the big qualifying runs start at 14:00.
Valencia is reported to be paying 26 million Euros to host the event with a view to take advantage of the boon that double world champion Fernando Alfonso has brought to Spain. Alonso has already had problems with using the streets of Valencia when the Ricardo Tormo F1 track is only short drive from the city. Valencia has a seven-year deal to host the Grand Prix Racing.
All in all the spectacular Spanish fiestas are sure to impress with plenty of music, fireworks to astound young and old, along with the smell of burning rubber on asphalt and the whine of the super powered Formula cars ripping through the ancient harbor. The race is on!
